 We needed a car, so the VFTC crew could drive places and have talks while driving. We knew: It had to be European, so we were going to make it a Saab. But Greg Dean from RealLife used to drive a Volvo, and who knows, he might have switched to Saab at some point (we're not to up-to-date on RealLife, we're sorry to say, yes, we know, we should be, we'll catch up sometime), and we wouldn't want to stand there as secretive copy-cats from RealLife, so we chose to choose another. A Mini would have been our second choice, but a Smart is just so much more hilarious and gives many a splendid opporunity to make fun of it lacking a bunch of seats. I'm not sure how well known the Smart car is in the US (if known at all), so the clueless might want to check out the official website. It is indeed a very small car, and we might have portrayed in much too big in this strip. It's tiny and has only two seats. The great thing is: parking is easy. The not-great thing is: It's tiny and it has only two seats. But it's still cool. So all the Smart fans unite and send us an email with your experience of dealing with mock from your peers. |
